ART Rocks Gallery

Welcome to ART Rocks Gallery, a place where creativity flourishes! The gallery opened June of 2024 in a beautiful historic building on James Street in downtown Ludington. ART Rocks opening has been somewhat of a full circle moment for the owners Mike and Vicki. Over thirty years ago, in Indiana, they opened an art studio, on their property behind their home where artists from all over the state came to teach classes to both children and adults.  There were watercolor and acrylic painting, photography, quilt making, flower arranging classes and both Mike and Vicki taught as well. Vicki taught basket weaving and Mike, a master bench jeweler, taught jewelry making classes of course. Mike also created and sold custom and special order jewelry in the studio, which grew into the main source of income and required a move to a larger more visible storefront. After almost twenty-five years of a successful jewelry business, they closed the doors to move to the city and state they always knew they wanted to retire to... Ludington, Michigan. But retirement was too boring for Mike and Vicki and they once again started a business, opening a jewelry store in Ludington. Victoria's Jewelry, which happens to be next door to ART Rocks, opened in Spring of 2018. Although they love the jewelry business, their passion, or "itch" for ART  needed to be "scratched" and the idea for ART Rocks was born. With a beautiful empty space right next door to the jewelry store it was an easy decision. So over thirty ears later, Mike and Vicki are coming back to where it started. ART Rocks offers a space brimming with inspiration and supporting artistic talent in several mediums. Come discover local artists and participate in classes that spark your love for art. Whether you're keen on jewelry making, painting, or fibers, there's something here for everyone, and every age, to discover and enjoy!
